Helios Hot Fire Test
On May 16, 2024, MIT Rocket Team Liquid Propulsion successfully hot fire tested Project Helios, a bi-propellant liquid rocket engine utilizing liquid oxygen and ethanol as propellants. This was the conclusion of Project Helios and Liquid Propulsion's first hot fire test in 10 years since Project Pyralis. Helios achieved peak thrust momentarily before the nozzle ablated per its design.

Project Phoenix Launch Video - MIT Rocket Team
Переглядів 1,8 тис.Рік тому
January 2023 we successfully launched and recovered both stages of Project Phoenix at FAR in the Mojave Desert. The upper stage, carrying our astronaut Tim (the mit mascot), reached 33,400 ft!! Both stages had successful deployment, and despite a parachute failure on the booster, both stages (and astronaut Tim) were recovered fully intact. This makes Phoenix the most successful two-stage launch...

Please mount propellant tanks on the other side of the firewall from the RUDing engine!
Are you up for any project regarding this like making own model and simulation of it?
Impressive!
Hybrid?
Probably just the nozzle ablating and melting XD
One thing that I'm noticing on a lot of high performance 2 stage projects is coning on the second stage. Did you guys figure that out?
I applied and met ua-cam.com/video/ZbRxg1XR-Qw/v-deo.htmlsi=gRtEe941i6DAnQbx
Nice!
Why aren't there supersonic cones?
y are you guys running around outside the bunker without knowing if the rocket is landed safely

What a great rocket. Could’ve used Andrew’s flat top for more power
congrats from Indian institute of space science and technology .
Nice work!
Tebrikler. Başarınızın devamını dilerim
hi im in the mit class rn and ur watching the video on the screen
How many G's does that thing endure?
Love from India
What motor are you using for the first stage?
You guys really are engineers y’all need to change that title for more views
Tell Jenna hi
Give a status on the launch.. gps data and such
T-10 @ 1:10:46
Can't get on to the screen
Please can’t get the link for new limk
how do you calculate the mass variation?
Hey I from india now I am in 11th std. Can I join your team
pehle padhle jee ka
Me too bro but I think it's not financially possible to go after 12th So you should (and i am too) studying for jee. Once iit done (it's not that easy) then finally MIT
one day i will go to mit and join mit rocket team.
Hell yeah!
Even after all of this the man who made the first reusable rocket was nothing more than a bachelors physics degree holder from a state university with no knowledge of application based engineering. Which means, your focus shouldn't be getting into MIT, rather building a rocket. If you get into MIT, that's just and advantage, but in reality any state college should do fine for you.
Truly inspiring !!
Will be working hard to be a part of this amazing team one day.
what tanks you guys used for fuel storage?
hope to see and be with you at 2024
Way to go team!
Another awesome video my friend as always :)
Where are the other parts guys ?? My career in design, in India is hanging because of this i am planning to make an electric car conversation using it 😅
Thanks for you from Iraq 🇮🇶
that static fire rocket was to short and was in the wrong side lol
Charlie!
Can someone tell me, aprox, how much to build this rocket costs?? Tnx!

I almost jumped, when I saw Charlie and Andrew... didn't expect them here...
Exactly !! From bps space right

hey checkout some of my content I do similar stuff related to rockets
wow this I so much wanted to learn solidworks !!!!!!! thank you for creating this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a significant educative effort, thank you, Hope you the best, from Turkey.
Non-Pyrotechnic Deployment my azzz try ematch on spring held back by wire that super heats and fails under spring tension with out flammable powder what way to make a m,i,t fail video
awful igniter...
Wow! That’s incredible, I’m studying aerospace engineering in Argentina, but my dream is to study in the US, congrats to all of you! Amazing launch!
Hahaha I will join as soon as I can and random question if a rocket is launched and is made to spin does it increase the speed and make it easier to launch or not because I was just thinking of the magnus effect and it crossed my mind : )
i dont think sin would affect the speed... however it should be far more stable
